People analytics is one of the biggest opportunities to hit the HR profession in a generation. Across industries, there is a widely recognised the need for the business insight to make informed decisions. Yet, HR teams are still struggling to capitalize on the potential value of data and analytics.

The lack of agreed standards is inhibiting the profession. That’s why Rosslyn Data Technologies is committed to supporting HR professionals in establishing the necessary standards that will enable executives to finally view and value an organization’s most important asset – its employees.

In 2017, we brought together a core group of HR leaders, both business and technical professionals, who agreed to work together to create the world’s first standardized taxonomy for more effective reporting and analysis.

This new HR taxonomy is just the start. In a later series of workshops this year, the International Human Capital Standards Taxonomy Group (IHCSTG) is planning to create:

  • Standardized metrics based on agreed definitions to ensure consistently and accuracy of reporting and analysis
  • Standardized benchmarks which will enable HR teams accurately assess their organization’s performance against industry peers

The success of the group’s work to date, and what is planned, wouldn’t be possible without the leadership of Dr. Max Blumberg, and the active participation of HR analytics professionals from private and public sector organizations including ABN AMRO, Capgemini, Coca-Cola Enterprises, Cisco, Deloitte, EDF, HSBC, Jaguar Land Rover, KPMG, MasterCard, PwC, Rolls-Royce, Royal Bank of Scotland, Sainsbury’s, Serco, SITA, Sky, Travis Perkins, The Home Office (UK), White & Case.
